Clear vision plays a critical role in every aspect of your life. Fortunately today, there are vision correction options to bring life back into focus for nearly every vision problem. Whether your choice for clear vision is glasses, contact lenses or LASIK, The Eye Clinic can help improve your point of view with a variety of vision correction options.

Did you know?

Board certified ophthalmologists at The Eye Clinic were the first to perform laser vision correction in Southwest Louisiana in 1997. We offer the most advanced LASIK options and continue to bring new advances in vision correction technology to the region.

LASIK surgery is performed in our state-of-the-art Laser Center in The Eye Clinic's Lake Charles office. We now offer the advanced, all-laser iLASIK procedure that combines custom vision-correcting technologies to correct the broadest range of vision imperfections, including mild to severe nearsightedness, farsightedness and all types of astigmatism. It may be an option for people who have previously been told they were not a candidate.

Precision Mapping

Because our eyes are as unique as our fingerprints, we each have a distinctive "map." The first step is to create a 3-D analysis of the imperfections of your eye. Twenty-five times more precise than conventional measurements used for glasses and contact lenses, the system measures and corrects errors that are otherwise not detected.

The iLASIK procedure uses a Femtosecond Laser, built from a legacy of innovative IntraLase®Technology. The femtosecond laser creates a thin flap customized to your unique eye shape, to prepare the cornea for treatment.

Based on the digital information from your personalized eye map, an ultra-precise STAR S4 IR® Excimer Laser is used to gently reshape the cornea to the desired curvature. When the flap is put back into place, you're done!

100% of patients see 20/40 or better after iLASIK, the standard requirement to drive without prescription lenses. It's so safe and effective that iLASIK is approved by NASA and the U.S. Military.
